The Junior Filmmakers Initiative is a program designed to introduce children to the art of filmmaking. The pilot program was held at Kimberley Park, an elementary school in a low-income neighborhood, and it brought together a group of students who were eager to learn about movie making.
The program was led by a team of experienced filmmakers, who taught the students about the different aspects of filmmaking, including screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing. The students were very excited to be a part of the program, and they worked hard to produce a film that they could be proud of. When asked to come up with a name for their group, the students decided to call themselves the “Kimberley Park Movie Squad”.

Another student, Jose, was excited to learn about the technical aspects of filmmaking. “I never thought that I would be able to use cameras and editing software, but now I know that I can do it”, he said.
The program was a success, and the Kimberley Park Movie Squad’s film was shown at a local film festival, where it received rave reviews. The children’s hard work and creativity had paid off.
